Geistlich Bio-Gide® Compressed
Geistlich Bio-Gide® Compressed should always be used with a bone graft substitute, such as Geistlich Bio-Oss® or Geistlich Bio-Oss Collagen®.
Geistlich Bio-Gide® Compressed is simple to handle and provides ease of application:
- Measure the defect with a periodontal probe.
- Trim the dry collagen membrane to the desired shape and size.
- Apply dry with the rough side facing the defect.
- Moisten the membrane in situ with blood from the defect.
The membrane may be sutured or fixed with pins, but this is unnecessary in most cases due to its marked hydrophilic and adhesive properties.
CBCT image showing the bone volume prior to implantation. The bone has been regenerated with an autologous bone block. However, due to bone resorption, the area needs additional augmentation at the time of implant placement.
Intra-operative view of the implant inserted into the regenerated bone with need for modelling of the bony contour to improve esthetic outcome in region 11.
Augmentation of the crest with Geistlich Bio-Oss® small granules covered with Geistlich Bio-Gide® Compressed to improve hard tissue contour and esthetic outcome.
Stabilization of Geistlich Bio-Gide® Compressed by pins (vestibular) and resorbable sutures (palatal) immobilizing the graft.
Eight days follow-up of the augmented site. Good primary wound healing is obtained without dehiscence.
