Straightforward approach:
Late implant placement
Late implant placement is a proven and reliable treatment option. Implant placement at a later time-point (6-8 months post extraction) improves wound healing, facilitates soft tissue management, and simplifies surgery. Ridge preservation procedures conducted immediately following tooth extraction minimize bone resorption and therefore preserve ridge volume until implant placement.
Clinical case: Ridge preservation with biomaterials for late implant placement.
Filling of the extraction socket up to the level of the crestal bone level using Geistlich Bio-Oss Collagen®.
Application of the Geistlich Bio-Gide® membrane over the defect.
Newly formed hard tissue 6 months post-operatively. Geistlich Bio-Oss Collagen® is not visible.
Geistlich Bio-Oss Collagen® and Geistlich Bio-Gide® membrane provide the new bone formation1 needed for effective and safe implant placement.
